Learn More About Our IT Medical Navigational & Advocacy Program
Navigating cancer care in today’s digital world can be overwhelming—especially for older adults and caregivers who may be unfamiliar with online tools. That’s why Islands Against Cancer, Inc. created our IT Medical Navigational & Advocacy Program—a hands-on support system designed to simplify the journey for patients and caregivers alike.
What We Do
Through this program, we provide eligible cancer patients and their caregivers with a loaned iPad preloaded with essential medical apps, secure portals, calendar tools, and direct access to their medical team. Each iPad is paired with a trained IT Advocate who offers personalized setup, guidance, and ongoing support—ensuring technology becomes a help, not a hindrance.
Our goal is to empower patients and caregivers to:
Stay on top of appointments and treatment schedules
Access medical records and physician notes in real time
Coordinate care between providers
Communicate clearly with their care teams
Feel confident using digital tools throughout their cancer journey
Our Pilot Partnership with Charleston Oncology
We are proud to launch this innovative pilot program in partnership with Charleston Oncology. Through this collaboration, we are supporting a select group of patients and caregivers within the Charleston Oncology network to improve care outcomes, reduce digital barriers, and ease the burden of navigating complex medical systems.
Need Support?
If you or someone you care for is a patient at Charleston Oncology and would benefit from our program, we invite you to complete the form below to get started. Our team will reach out to review your needs and walk you through the next steps.
